Dragonfly Journeys Challenge #82

Dragonfly Journeys Challenge #82 is The Year of the Rooster.  I did not even realize that I had a  Close to My Heart Rooster stamp.  It is an older stamp that I have never used!  I made a very simple Birthday Card with a small bow made from twine.  Stamped in Black on Kraft Cardstock.

More Christmas Cards

I finally had time this weekend to finish my Christmas Cards.  This is the latest I have ever mailed out my cards!  I have been dividing up my time between Crocheting and Card making this year.

Here are some of my cards I worked on this weekend:

PML Christmas Cards

I made quite a few of my Christmas Cards this year with Close to My Hearts Picture My Life Cards.  It makes card making so quick and easy.  You can add your own stamps and embellishments to the cards or use them just as they are.  Here are some of them that I made:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #189

Another Atlantic Hearts Sketch to help me with my Christmas Cards... This week I used the Close to My Heart "Oh Deer" Paper Pack with Stamp Set #C1656 Joy to You and Me and D1694 Very Merry Holiday.  The card sparkles from the Gold Shimmer Trim and the Heat Embossing which is also Gold.  A little bit of Gold Stickles and a couple of "Oh Deer" Complements to finish it off.

Christmas Critters

My daughter has this thing for penguins, so every year I make her a Christmas Card with penguins on it.  This is a shaker card made mostly with Close to My Heart products.  I used a retired stamp set (B1483) Seasons Greetings, City Sidewalks Paper and CTMH Ribbon.  The Crystal Snow is the only non CTMH product.

I am entering this card in Dragonfly Journeys Challenge #80.

Three Amigo's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos November 2016 Close to My Heart Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd day of each month we will feature a different CTMH product or challenge and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month our Challenge is to use 3 Pictures on a layout.  My layout almost did not get done because I was having a terrible time with Cricut Craft Room and Design Space.  I could not get either one of them to work properly.  So the layout is simple.  I used Close to My Heart "Oh Deer" paper and the "Christmas " Thin Cuts.  I also added a few of the Gold "Baby Girl" Complements.
This is the first layout I have completed from last Christmas.  I am so far behind on my pictures, and the problems with my Cricuts are not going to help matters!

Cards for a Friend

A friend asked me to make some Christmas Cards he could give to his Adult Children. I worked on them this weekend and he was very happy with the results. I got my inspiration on Pinterest for the first two.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #183

For the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #183 I found the perfect Picture My Life Card to work with from the Close to My Heart PML "Happy Happy Christmas Cards" Collection.  I matted it on Cranberry Cardstock, added some City Sidewalks Washi Tape, Stamped and cut out some berries and a bird form the oldie but goody CTMH stamp set (C1510) Merry & Bright and tied 2 bows out of White & Gold Twine.  I also used some Epoxy Bubbles on the stamped berries to make them look 3 Dimensional.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #181

Another Christmas Card made with the help of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog!  I used Close to My Heart Stamp Set (D1695) Cozy Christmas and the matching Thin Cuts which made it so easy and quick to cut out the Snowmen and their accessories!

I used an embossing folder on the white background, Cranberry Cardstock and paper from the City Sidewalks Paper Packet.

So... instead of the 3 banners I used 3 Snowmen. I backed them with a piece of red printed paper so they would show up better.  The Sentiment was stamped on the white cardstock before it was embossed.

3 Amigo's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos October 2016 Close to My Heart Mini-Blog Hop. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This Month our Challenge is to use 3 Textures.  I started by stamping the spider webs on the Sunset Cardstock and then using the DOTS Embossing Folder for texture on the background.  Since this is a Halloween Card I scraped the edges of the cardstock to make it look a little Spooky.  I used Purple Sparkle Gems to pop out the spiders.

The Close to My Heat Stamp Sets I used are (B1529) Silly Spider Web, (B1528) Monster Crossing and (C1652) Monstrous Halloween.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #177

I made this card for a friend who was turning 50 this year.  (Oh what I'd give to be 50 again!)  I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch # 177 as my guide and three new Close to My Heart stamp sets.  D1711 True Love stamp set was used for the child and the balloons, B1539 Pen Pal Alphabet was used to stamp the "50" inside the balloons and B1537 Birthday Sparkles was used for the sentiment.

I used my Shin Han Markers for coloring in the stamps and Lagoon Cardstock for the border.
Normally I have a hard time with "white space" on my cards, but I didn't mind this one so much.  I actually like it.

Three Amigos Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos September 2016 Close to My Heart Mini-Blog Hop.
First I stampeded the images in black ink.  I then used watercolors to color in the images and background.  The barn is done with a dry brush and the horse and background are done with more water to spread the color.  I then Inked the edges of the white paper with Barn Red ink and matted it on Barn Red cardstock.

This month our project challenge is to use 3 techniques.  I wasn't too sure about calling each step in the card making process a "technique" so I looked up the definition of the word: A way of carrying out a particular task, especially the execution or performance of an artistic work or a scientific procedure.

The stamp sets I used are A1192 Happy Heart and C1666 Homegrown.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #175

Dear Atlantic Hearts,
Thank you for giving me a reason to get upstairs in my Scrap room and use some of my new Close to My Heart products.  I tend to forget to do any indoor projects in the summertime.  Especially this summer which has been warm ... no, it has been HOT and sunny every day!

So my card this week is a birthday card using a new stamp set D1703 "Nature's Wish", new paper "Rustic Home" and new Compliments "Good Life".

Here is the sketch:

I also used Cocoa Ink and Durables Studs.  Here is the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

This month our project challenge is to use 3 folds.  What better than the old Tri-fold Shutter Card?!  I haven't made one of these in a while so I had to look for my pattern, and I actually found it in my messy scrap room!  I used the August Stamp of the Month which is a Halloween Stamp set and I also used a cut out from Artbooking.

It's difficult to photograph the entire card so I have 2 pictures.  The first one shows it from the front.

This is a view from the back:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #171

For Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #171 I decided to attempt a Shaker Card for the first time.  This was not an easy task for me.  The first one ended up in the garbage.  After several hours I finally came up with one that sort of worked.  I used brand new paper from Close to My Heart called Whimsy Fundamentals and a favorite stamp set of mine called Birthday Princess.

The sketch was a simple one and perfect for this kind of card:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #165

This Pirate Birthday (A1186) stamp set from Close to my Heart is so cute! This is the first time I am using it for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #165.  It goes perfect with the Regatta Paper Pack. And I colored it in with my Shin Han Markers.
